Views & ReViews on Digital Gadgets For Us Baby Boomers!

Time Has Come Today

Chambers Brothers – 1967. [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uHfB63ln1Ig] Just seems relevant to this post! 1967 was a great year: I graduated from Brother Rice High School and enlisted in the Air Force.

It has been a while since I felt OK about my age. Seems to be a barrier to employment.

Well, I’ve decided to embrace it and let it work for me! After all, I plan my dissertation to research what Boomers do (or do not do) about digital media and digital devices (along the line of PEW’s study “Internet & American Life Project” with the differences being that I am focusing more narrowly [Boomers] and more deeply [detailed uses/non-uses]). When all is said and done, I plan to publish the results.

How engaged are we? How engaged do we want to be? What do we know about digital media and digital devices? There are about 100 questions that I will use to survey a random population (details available for those interested in that level thereof). Then analyze the results, publish, and comment. The project should be complete by next April. I’ll post updates from time to time. During the interim, I’ll post commentary along similar lines, publish links relative to, and/or helpful for, us boomers and technology.

Your feedback is always valued!
